Lt. Gen. Antonio Parlade Jr. and actress Angel Locsin met on Monday and were able to clear up the red-tagging cloud between them.
It can be recalled that Lt. General Antonio alleged that Angel’s sister Angela “Ella” Colmenares has links to NPA
Based on the photo that the actress’ lawyer, Atty. Joji Alonso, posted on Instagram, Locsin as with Parlade were happy with the outcome, inasmuch as both displayed happy smiles.
Alonso wrote, “In a meeting held today between AFP Southern Luzon Command Chief Lt. General Antonio Parlade, Jr. and actress Angel Locsin, the issues that cropped up these past weeks including the allegations against her and her sister Angela ‘Ella’ Colmenares, were discussed, threshed out and cleared.”
According to Alonso, Locsin condemned all forms of v1olence and terr0rism and expressed her support for the government in its efforts to ensure the safety and protection of its citizens.
In turn, Parlade hailed Locsin for her contributions to the “AFP and her continuing advocacy to help the poor, impoverished, and the helpless.”
Following the red-tagging issue, Ella released a statement in October on Twitter and categorically denied the allegations against her.
“I do not have to defend myself as I have not done anything wrong but I decided to speak up, not just for myself but also for my children, whose lives may have been endangered because of this reckless red-tagging being broadcasted on social media,” Ella posted.
Angel also released a statement on social media in October and denied the said allegations.
“To set the record straight, hindi po ako parte ng NPA or any terrorist group. Neither my sister nor my kuya Neri is a part of the NPA or any terrorist group,” Angel posted.
