Pokwang and Jessy Mendiola will soon be seen on TV5.
It is after the Kapamilya network has been ordered to stop its broadcast operations.
Many celebrities have been trying to find ways to connect to people and make a living amid the shutdown issue of ABS-CBN.
Amid the TV industry crisis, artists and producers are banding together to find new and alternative creative platforms to survive.
TV5 has also opened new opportunities for artists and block timers through its cable subsidiary Cignal Entertainment. Two of those who have already made the transition are erstwhile Kapamilya artists Jessy Mendiola and Pokwang.
Mendiola headlines her own health show, “Fit for Life,” while Pokwang will co-host a new game show “Fill in the Banks” with Jose Manalo, produced by Mike Tuviera’s APT Entertainment.
Pokwang will also team up with Pauleen Luna and Ria Atayde in APT’s daily morning show, “Rise and Shine.”
It was two weeks ago when Jessy Mendiola proudly announced on her Instagram page that she can’t wait for her fans to see her upcoming new show.
Sporting athletic get up, Jessy captioned her photo with, “Can’t wait for my new show to come out! Abangan. ❤️💪🏻”
Pokwang also confirmed her transfer to another network when a netizen raised questions about it.
“@misspendon yes totoo naman yan kasi last year pa ako nagpapaalam wala pang pandemic at bearing sa prangkisa, yes matagal sa akong nagpaalam pero di ako pinayagan alam ng mga boss yan! Hindi ba pwede sumuporta muna bago umalis? May mga kaibigan akong maiiwan teh!” Pokwang quipped.
The upcoming projects with the said networks aim to bring back the robust business of mainstream TV broadcasts.
TV5 has provided several opportunities for said Kapamilyas to stay afloat amidst the global pandemic.
