Senator and boxing champ Manny Pacquaio had been very open about his past and hardships in life before.
Everyone knows, the People’s Champ came from a poor family in Bukidnon. At a young age, her parents got separated.
He always tells his story about having different jobs to help his family with everyday expenses. And because of this, Sen. Manny wasn’t able to finish high school.
Considering his humble beginnings, he has become an inspiration for a lot of young generation to work hard and reach for their dreams.
However, even is he used to tell his story multiple times already, the boxing senator still getting emotional when going back to his hardship.
Senator Manny Pacquiao was in tears during his interview in ANC Conversations with singer Martin Nievera. It was just a light and friendly conversation between them before they reach the part that the senator had relived his history.
According to Pacquiao, he was ignored by rich people and even disgusted with him because he was poor and dirty. Pacquiao also added that he experienced drinking water just to survive.
“Masakit yung loob ko kasi may mga tao na mas gusto nila na mamatay yung tao kaysa magastos nila pera nila. Naranasan ko na rin yung ipagtabuyan ako ng mayayaman. Pandirihan ka kasi mabaho ka.”
With perseverance and hard work, he is now one of the wealthiest people in the Philippines. He was also able to continue with his studies, finishing high school, and going into college.
Pacquiao said his life story is the best illustration that miracles happen and dreams do come true.
The boxing senator once said,
“Being poor does not mean one must die poor”. “Hard work and persistence will set you free from the shackles of poverty. But it is faith that will take you to the very top. Never lose faith in what you can do as a human being. Believe in the loyalty of family and believe in the Almighty.”
Truly, Sen. Manny has the heart on poor people, because like him, he knows how it feels to be poor. What can you say?
