Former President Benigno Aquino III Finally Speaks Up On ABS-CBN Closure

With the most controversial issue today, the shut down of one of the biggest networks in the country.

It has been making in the headlines over the past days. Everyone is airing their side it may be into the network or against.

The people of the Philippines have been shocked by the sad news. Artists from the network already expressed their sides.

This time, one of the biggest people, former President Benigno Aquino III finally speaks up about the matter.

In a text message he sent to Rappler, Aquino had a short message for the current government.

This administration has put itself into a corner unnecessarily. If there is significant and sustained support for the reopening of [ABS-CBN], it will happen.” 

On the other hand, he cleared that he won’t comment any further.

“I won’t comment presently lest I help them inadvertently in solving their unnecessary problem.”

According to the source, Aquino repeatedly pleas the media to coverage fairly during his time.

Meanwhile, prior to Aquino’s statement, former Makati Mayor Jejomar Binay also had his side aired.

“We may argue who bears the greater responsibility for the closure of ABS-CBN. But we cannot deny that the day the network went off the air 48 years ago was also the day  democracy d!e’d.”
