It is such a heartbreaking moment for a father to bury his own child.
For most parents, it would be the worst nightmare when their most beloved child passes away.
Unfortunately, this happened to a man who had no choice but to walk home the deceased body of his newborn child because he couldn’t get a ride.
According to the source, the father was named as Rodel Canas, 23 years old, took his wife to the Rizal Medical Center, Pasig City, where she gave birth prematurely last March 11.
Sadly, their baby was diagnosed with congenital heart disease and survived for a month. The baby had severe sepsis that resulted in pneumonia.
Rodel works as a construction worker, was billed with a total of P245,000 by the hospital to cover the delivery and confinement.
On the other hand, Rodel asked help from the barangay chairman of East Rembo, Thelma P. Ramirez.
By then, Ramirez gave Rodel a certificate of indigency to help cover the huge amount of hospital bills.
Reportedly, the staff gave Rodel’s lifeless newborn baby in a box wrapped with packaging tape.
The father then had no choice but to walk all the way home from Pasig City to Makati. While carrying the box of his demised son. There of no available transportation.
With the help of Ramirez, Rodel managed to set up a burial of his child in a vacant lot from where he rents.
As we all know, public transportation in Luzon were all suspended with the accordance of the on-going enhanced community quarantine.
Meanwhile, this story of Rodel Canas broke the hearts of many Filipinos.
