Thousands of devotees once again celebrate the Feast of the Black Nazarene popularly known as Traslacion last January 9.
It is known to many that even famous celebrities are also devotees.
Angeline Quinto is one of the celebrities who join in the festivities yearly. Given the chance, the singer-actress would climb up the “andas” this year in order to touch the blackened image of Jesus Christ – her sixth time should it happen.
The singer also intends to hear Mass at Quiapo Church before the start of the procession.
In an interview, Angeline shared her experiences joining the annual Traslacion.
She says she no longer joins the procession; rather attends the mass on the day of the feast.
Sunud-sunod yun. So, before ibalik iyong Mahal na Poon sa simbahan, nakapagmisa na ako noon. ‘Tapos, tatambay na kami sa ilalim… sa may Quinta Market,” she said.
The 30-year-old singer also revealed that her devotion started when she was eight years old.
No need to be in disguise. Like other devotees, Angeline would wear the maroon T-shirt with the face of the Poon printed on it and disappear into the enthusiastic multitude. Everybody would be so focused on the Poon and nobody would mind her.
The other celebrity devotees are former Vice Pres. Noli de Castro, McCoy de Leon, and Coco Martin among many others.
Angeline Quinto is just one of those celebrities who had a strong faith and devotion and still continues to practice what they are doing when they are still not prominent.
