For the first time, Anne Curtis shared why she and her husband choose to keep pregnancy a secret

A day after the big revelation, Anne Curtis finally speaks up regarding her pregnancy.

In the opening number of ABS-CBN’s noontime show, Its Showtime yesterday, November 11, the soon-to-be-mom got emotional when she formally announced her pregnancy on live television and in front of the madlang people.

“Lalo nang magiging espesyal ang November sa akin because I’m happy to announce that Erwan and I are expecting. I’m pregnant… Magiging mommy na ako!”

The hosts’ supportive mother Carmen Curtis-Smith was also present to witness her public announcement.

“Erwan (Heussaff) and I are very, very happy. Again, maraming, maraming salamat to everyone. The overflowing love talaga na we received after announcing yesterday… Maraming salamat for the love, madlang people, na binigay ninyo yesterday sa akin, sa asawa kong si Erwan, and for my little one,” Anne added.

Anne is in her 5th month of pregnancy according to the hint her husband Erwan Heussaff posted on her IG account.

Vhong Navarro co-host and close friend of Anne also shared how they feel when Anne shared with them the good news.

“Noong binanggit sa atin ni Anne ‘yun, una siyempre tuwang tuwa tayong lahat. Pero nagkahalo ng kaba dahil noong ‘Magpasikat Week’, kung anu-ano pa ‘yung ginawa mo.”

“Pero ‘di ba sinabi mo na chine-check mo naman, na nagtatanong ka sa doctor mo, kung safe naman,” Vhong said.

According to Anne, her fitness trainer was the only one who knew she was pregnant and advised her that it was safe to do the stunt in ‘Magpasikat Challenge’

Later on during the opening, Anne Curtis explained why she and her husband choose to keep it a secret.

“We wanted to keep the baby for us muna. It was really such a nice journey. Medyo nahirapan din kami noong una, kung paano ko ba hindi maipapahalata. Pero ang galing din kasi hindi rin siya muna nagpakita masyado. Pero it was nice just to share with Erwan and I. It was our little secret.”

Now the proud parents are ready to share their blessings with their fans and followers. “Now, we were ready to share it with the whole world. Kaya ayan, nagpapakita na talaga siya.”

Meanwhile, the 34-year-old actress-host shared details about her pregnancy in her first interview since announcing the personal milestone on Monday.

Speaking with ABS-CBN News’ Mario Dumaual, Curtis confirmed that she is on her fifth month of pregnancy, and is expecting to give birth around March 2020.

Recalling how she found out she was going to be a first-time mom, Anne said: “Just like every other woman, I think, ikaw muna, e. Gusto mo muna malaman on your own, and then iko-confirm mo with a doctor after.

Her husband is also very very excited to be a dad.

Anne also described her pregnancy so far as “smooth-sailing” talking about the morning sickness she feels.

Asked whether she has a preference for the baby’s gender, she answered: “Alam mo, honestly, anything basta healthy. That’s all that matters to me. It’s a blessing. I just really pray na healthy and smooth the rest of my pregnancy.”

She hasn’t yet scheduled a maternal leave from her projects, including her daily hosting duties on “It’s Showtime.”

“I think hangga’t kaya ko pa naman. I feel very strong naman. Hindi naman ako delicate or high-risk,” she said.

Anne also shared the observation of many of her followers that her pregnancy suddenly showed, after months of it not being obvious, once she and Heussaff announced the development.

“The moment na mag-announce ako, lumabas na siya! For the longest time, para lang akong busog. Pero the moment I announced, parang sabi ni baby, ‘Okay!’”

Surely, the madlang people will follow her journey as a soon-to-be-mom.
