Ex-couple Sharon Cuneta and Gabby Concepcion had a heart-to-heart talk before their duet in an event

Many showbiz fans are surely happy and relieved when the ex-couple Gabby Concepcion and Megastar Sharon Cuneta mended their ties, as they surprised fans last Sunday with a duet on stage “for the first time in forever.”

This heart-warming reunion happened a year after their rift which canceled the supposed movie project of them together.

Last Sunday, September 22, Sharon Cuneta and Gabby Concepcion were one of the guests who participated in Gabay Guro event, education advocacy of PLDT-Smart held at Mall of Asia Arena.

Nearly 20,000 teachers and audience attended the event who went wild after the ex-couple appeared on the stage and sang their signature song, “Come What May.”


It’s been almost two decades ago perhaps when the parents of KC Concepcion are seen together live on stage.

According to PEP, the said duet was not originally on the plan, however, someone advice Gabby if he wants to end the rift between them, he supposed to be the one to initiate the move. Gabby followed the advice and he called the Megastar, however, Sharon didn’t answer her phone.

Later on, they knew that Sharon hasn’t with her that time, but the ex-couple still had the chance to talk with each other privately in a room backstage.

Fortunately, the heart-to-heart talk resulted in a very positive outcome. They explained and heard each other’s side.


The concert King and Queen, Martin Nievera and Pops Fernandez who is also there to perform got the idea of Sharon-Gabby duet. And they agreed!

The song ended and the erstwhile loveteam and couple greeted the teachers in the Arena. “Ito po ang regalo namin sa inyo,” Sharon said, referring to their duet. “Sana natuwa kayo.”

Then, she introduced her former partner, “For the first time in forever, Mr. Gabby Concepcion, ladies, and gentlemen.” The latter was quick to retort, “And Ms. Sharon Cuneta Concepcion, noong araw.” And there were more shrieks again from the constantly adoring crowd.

Sharon and Gabby, known nowadays to fans of their onscreen tandem as #ShaGab, was supposed to celebrate their 35th year wedding anniversary had they not decided to part ways.

“Dapat 35 years na kaming mag-asawa e. As a matter of fact today [Setyembre 23] naalala ko lang, naalala ko kahapon actually,” she said.

Then, she went on: “It was so unplanned ‘yung kagabi at mas importante sa amin ‘yung reaction ng mga tao. Ako nagulat rin ako na ‘really up to now?’ And even on IG, Twitter and FB, I get a lot of requests (na) I hope that before you slow down or retire, please do a movie.”
